Calaveras Arts and Music Awards celebrates area talent despite setbacks
The second annual Calaveras Arts and Music Awards (CAMMIES) took place at the Copperopolis Armory on Saturday, Jan. 15, hosted by Copperopolis-based producer Richard Varrasso, Valley Springs-based co-producer Event City Network, Murphys-based publicist and Murphys Witch Walk co-producer Christopher Buttner, as well as a team of sponsors and volunteers.

Calaveras Arts and Music Awards celebrates area talent despite setbacks
The second annual Calaveras Arts and Music Awards (CAMMIES) took place at the Copperopolis Armory on Saturday, Jan. 15, hosted by Copperopolis-based producer Richard Varrasso, Valley Springs-based co-producer Event City Network, Murphys-based publicist and Murphys Witch Walk co-producer Christopher Buttner, as well as a team of sponsors and volunteers.
The 2nd Annual Calaveras Arts and Music Awards was held on Jan. 15, at the Copperopolis Armory. With 180 in attendance and another 250 to 300 watching the livestream, the award show honored 51 of the Mother Lode region’s musicians, singers/songwriters, bands, events, festivals, venues and other professionals from the regions entertainment industry.
For 2021 Recognition Creative Copperopolis presents the second annual CAMMIES recognition awards show honoring local artists, musicians, bands, performing arts groups and producers. This show will be taped live for TV broadcast and there will be live internet radio transmitting through Cal.Net on www.copperopolis.rocks and other internet music stations. The gala event at the Copperopolis Armory starts off with a Red Carpet photo opportunity Pre-Awards show,, no host cocktail dinner reception and social hour.
The 2nd Annual Calaveras Arts and Music Awards was held on Saturday evening, January 15, 2022, at the expansive Copperopolis Armory. With a mindful-to-COVID-19 audience of 180 in attendance and another 250 to 300 watching the livestream at any given time during three hour ceremony, the award show honored 51 of the Mother Lode regions musicians, singers/songwriters, bands, events, festivals, venues and other professionals from the regions entertainment industry.
Creative Copperopolis is proud to present the Second Annual Calaveras Arts and Music Awards, aka The CAMMIES, which recognizes and honors the artistic and cultural contributions made to the tri-county Calaveras, Amador and Tuolumne community by the region’s best Artists, Musicians, Bands, Performing Arts Groups and Producers.
The CAMMIES Awards was co-produced by now Copperopolis resident and former Bay Area music industry executive Richard Varrasso of Creative Copperopolis and Nolan Apostle or EventCity.net. Mr. Varrasso, over his storied four decade music industry career, managed legendary rock musicians Ronnie Montrose and Greg Kihn and worked with other iconic recording artists such as Sammy Hagar, Journey, Santana, and Jefferson Starship. Mr. Apostle’s Valley Springs-based EventCity.net is a multifaceted live music, conference and food event production and management company serving Northern California.
